Love at First Sight: Our Brookside Story

“Love at first sight” is the only way to describe my introduction to the Labradoodle. In 2001, I came across an article about Labradoodles as companion dogs for children with autism, and I was instantly smitten.

Dogs have always been part of my life. Alongside working full-time and raising a family, I’ve trained with Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department K-9 officers, trained drug-detection dogs, and bred and shown dogs in the AKC arena. But no breed captured my heart quite like the Labradoodle.

In 2004, our first Labradoodle joined our family as a companion for our son, who has autism. Charlie, our second, has been with us since 2013. Over the years, our doodles have filled our home and our everyday lives with joy and love. They are the inspiration behind Brookside Labradoodles.

Now that I’ve retired from the business world and sent the last of our six children off to college, I can’t imagine a better way to spend my days than doing what I love most: sharing Australian Labradoodles with families like yours.
